Università Cattolica participated in the Global University Summit
The event was held on Oct. 26 and 27 at the campus of Notre Dame University
A prestigious initiative jointly organized by the Pontifical Academy for Life and IBM involved Università Cattolica. On Oct. 26 and 27, the IBM Technology Ethics Lab at Notre Dame University (USA) hosted the Global University Summit, where best practices for a more ethical Artificial Intelligence (AI) were shared.
During the Summit, attending universities signed the Rome Call for AI Ethics, the strategic document that aims to support an ethical approach to Artificial Intelligence and promote a sense of responsibility among organizations, governments, institutions, and the private sector.
Università Cattolica was represented by Ciro De Florio, associate professor of Logic and Philosophy of Science and member of the Scientific Council of the Humane Technology Lab, who spoke during the Education panel, one of three tables along with Research and Policy. Keynote Speakers, on the other hand, included Luciano Floridi, professor of Philosophy and Ethics of Information at Oxford University and member of the HTLab Scientific Council.
