University collaborations with Africa for a sustainable future: a new agenda from the ITACA project

Summary

On 4 December 2025, the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore hosted the joint event of ITACA project at the presence of the Rector Elena Beccalli, and delegates from the 4 Italian University partners and the African guests from the 10 African Universities members.  

The day opened with institutional addresses, outlining ITACA’s strategic vision and its role in strengthening long-term cooperation between Italian and African universities, including keynotes from MUR and EU officers.
This was followed by thematic panels and discussions involving academics, project partners, and entrepreneurs, focusing on education, research, innovation, and sustainable development.
The event concluded by presenting future perspectives, including the continuation of activities through new programmes and expanded academic and entrepreneurial partnerships.
