Activities

ITACA intends to establish a permanent platform between Italian and African universities to enact a fertile academic cooperation for students, lecturers, and staff members.

To achieve such a goal, four main groups of activities will be implemented:

  1. Mobility of lecturers between Italian and African universities to strengthen knowledge exchange both in teaching methods and new content creation;
  2. Mobility of African students in Ba, MSc and PhD programs in Italy to promote an inclusive model of academia as well as promote mobilization of Italian students in Africa to develop their master’s and PhD thesis;
  3. Creation of double degree and courses to foster cross-cultural understanding by connecting and integrating Western and African contexts;
  4. Promotion of advanced training programs to increase capacity building in international projects with Italian and African staff universities as well as strengthen teaching and research competencies.

The ITACA project is fully funded, and visiting scholars and students will have the expenses covered in terms of:

  • Flight ticket
  • VISA
  • Accommodation (room and part of the board)
