Sustainability areas

We all live in a time characterized by profound societal and environmental transformation, which affect our populations both in the Global North and South. Overall, several challenges are mentioned by scholars and practitioners, ranging from societal issues as poverty, inequalities, hunger, access to education, toward ecological issues such as climate change, global warming, water scarcity, life on land and below the water, etc. United Nation capture these challenges in the famous Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the Agenda 2030.

ITACA project aims at contributing to the SDGs by developing collaborations that can foster knowledge exchange around sustainability pillars of the United Nations. Particularly, the aforementioned activities of the ITACA projects, and especially the mobility of lecturers and students from Africa to Italy, will be implemented in the following 5 key sustainability areas for the Italian and African academia and industry:

3. Green Economy
4. Agri-Food
5. Energy and Water
