Project’s Mid-Term: UNITO meeting

Summary

The “Project’s Mid-Term: UniTo meeting” opened with institutional greetings from the Directors of the Departments involved, who highlighted the strategic value of academic collaboration with African countries and the importance of the ITACA project in promoting mobility, scientific cooperation, and the joint development of skills.

The scientific coordinators of the other thematic areas - Green Economy, Energy and Water, Agri-Food, and Orange Economy - presented the developments of their respective work streams and the collaborations launched with African partners.

The second part of the meeting was dedicated to the presentation of initiatives related to UniTo’s TNE (Transnational Education) activities, including WAGON2Africa, UNITAfrica, MARE, and Moving Italianness, reflecting the University’s growing commitment to building shared educational pathways and fostering the international dimension of higher education.

The event concluded with a summary of the main achievements and an open discussion on the project’s future perspectives, confirming ITACA’s central role in strengthening academic relations between Italy and Africa and in shaping new trajectories for scientific and cultural cooperation.
