AI: The First Steps in the World of Artificial Intelligence
A transversal course on the basics of AI for the newly enrolled students of the Milan campus, by the University Laboratories HTLab and TeLeLab
Starting from the academic year 2024/2025, the Teaching and Learning Lab (TeLeLab) and the Humane Technology Lab (HTLab) offer the course "AI: The first steps in the world of Artificial Intelligence", intended for newly enrolled students of the Bachelor's Degrees of the Milan campus of Università Cattolica.
This innovative project aims to guide students to understand the opportunities and challenges of Artificial Intelligence (AI), a technology that is redefining the fabric of our societies, economies and personal lives.
Objectives
- Provide an insightful overview of the current state and future prospects of AI.
- Develop practical skills related to the use of AI tools.
- Demystifying AI by presenting its key concepts in an accessible and engaging way.
- Promote critical reflection on the use of AI.
Learning Outcomes
- Ability to understand key concepts of artificial intelligence.
- Ability to process content using AI (prompt design) applications.
- Ability to identify the main applications and impacts of AI in different disciplines.
- Developing a critical awareness of ethical and social issues related to AI.
Structure
The course takes place at the Milan campus of Università Cattolica and includes two editions of 8 hours each, divided into 2 meetings of 4 hours each.
At the end of the course, participants who have fully attended the face-to-face meetings will be issued an Open Badge, which certifies the knowledge and skills acquired at the end of the course.

- Target audience: newly enrolled students from the Faculties of Economics, Banking, Finance and Insurance Sciences and Foreign Languages and Literatures.
