The CLAIRE network brings together 435 laboratories and institutions from 37 countries, which work with the aim of strengthening European Artificial Intelligence (AI) research compared to that of other global competitors and, above all, with the aim of ensuring responsible, reliable AI that is truly at the service of people.

On 28 February 2020, the Pontifical Academy for Life, Microsoft, IBM, FAO and the Minister for Technological Innovation (MITD) signed the strategic document that aims to support an ethical approach to Artificial Intelligence and promote a sense of responsibility among organizations, governments, institutions and the private sector, with the aim of creating a future where digital innovation and technological progress serve human genius and creativity and not their gradual replacement.

The Artificial Intelligence Doctoral Academy (AIDA) is a joint initiative consisting of 5 ICT48 projects funded by the European Commission (AI4media; Vision, Humane AI Net, Elise, Taylor) and aims to support a global education and research programme on Artificial Intelligence, to attract the best PhD students in Europe and to foster the dissemination of skills and expertise in AI. AIDA has more than 55 Universities and 18 Research Centers and Industrial Representatives. In addition to Università Cattolica, eight Italian universities are part of AIDA.

  • AI4EU: Established in 2019 with the support of the European Commission. The European AI-on-demand platform seeks to facilitate the transfer of AI knowledge and technologies from research to different business sectors. AI4EU aims to create value, growth and jobs in Europe. The platform acts as a catalyst to help AI-driven innovation: new products, services and solutions for the benefit of European industry, commerce and society. Participants seek to address the fragmentation of the European AI framework. The five thematic areas of AI4EU research are: Explainable AI, Verifiable AI, Physical AI, Collaborative AI and Integrative AI.

  • European AI Alliance: It is a multi-stakeholder forum engaged in a broad and open discussion on all aspects of AI development and its impact on the economy and society. Materials and opinions can be published, contributing directly to the European debate on AI and supporting the European Commission. There are several sections available: Blog (information on the Commission's work on AI);   Forums (you can raise AI-related topics and engage in open discussions); Documents (collection of public documents on AI); Open library (repository of all types of AI reports and documents ); Events (overview of upcoming meetings and events on AI).

It is a non-profit scientific association that aims to promote research and dissemination of Artificial Intelligence techniques, encouraging their teaching through seminars and other targeted initiatives. Within the Association there are eight working groups: agent and multi-agent systems; artificial intelligence and ageing; Artificial Intelligence for Cultural Heritage; robotics; machine learning and data mining; knowledge representation and automatic reasoning; natural language processing; argument.
