Barbara Bettinelli holds a PhD from the University of Nottingham in the UK, where she also taught for many years. Her main interest is the training of non-native teachers of English, which was also the subject of her doctoral thesis. She has been involved in European projects linked to the testing and certification of modern foreign languages in general, and English in particular.
Her long experience as a trainer and teacher led to her being commissioned by Longman Pearson to write a series of language text books. She has also been a regular speaker at British Council Conferences. For the past sixteen years, Barbara has taught English for Specialising Master programmes and graduate programmes at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
